This weekend, you’ll likely hear from a lot of people about “Constitution Day.”
While we think it’s an important day (Sept 17th is recognized as the 230th Anniversary of the signing of the Constitution), unfortunately, most people treat this day like a one-time trivia day.
Schools, politicians and organizations tend to focus on how old people need to be to be eligible for office, or how many Senators there are, and other basic quiz questions. But few focus on the original intent and legal meaning of the document – that is, to restrict government power so that liberty has a chance to flourish.
For us here at the Tenth Amendment Center – that’s our entire focus. Constitution day is every single day of the year.
Our goal in everything we do – from making videos, to writing articles, to reporting on news, and supporting efforts to reject unconstitutional acts – is to educate people about the Founders’ Constitution, and to teach them how to defend it.
I won’t bore you with a long diatribe about all the details of these efforts, as we send out updates on this throughout the year. Instead, today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite quotes on the Constitution from the founding generation. They come from a broad cross-section of people and give you a pretty good understanding of how the Constitution was structured. You can find these quotes below.
I also wanted to thank you for being here with us. We absolutely couldn’t get the job done without your support. Whether it’s financial contributions, or sharing our articles and videos on social media – every little bit helps. Together, we can continue in this historic struggle to stand for the Constitution and Liberty.
